Two principal centres

Kiryat Luza and Holon are the principal centres of Samaritan life. The Samaritan neighbourhood in Holon was established in 1954–1955. The community’s history also records education, cultural activities and the development of A.B. The Samaritan News in 1969.

Objects in context

The Museum of the Bible’s Samaritan exhibition brought together manuscripts, ritual objects, photographs and archaeological discoveries. These materials show why Samaritan studies crosses the boundaries of biblical scholarship, archaeology and social history.

A medieval inscription

Among the exhibition’s objects was a Samaritan Hebrew stone inscription from the medieval synagogue at Kefar Kalil. Such an object is evidence for a particular community and place. Its original setting matters as much as its later display in a museum.
